Your Internship Could Change Girls’ Lives

When I signed up to intern with Voice 4 Girls, I had no idea that I was in for an experience of a lifetime.

From getting trained by Voice staff, travelling to the camp location and living in a rural school, to training a bunch of teenagers, every small step was a lesson and one step towards a brighter future for the adolescent girls.

Being a Voice intern is a big responsibility.

Girls at camp look up to you as a role model and follow everything you do or say. I had to watch every move of mine.

With responsibility, also came the lessons of life. I learnt about social realities, leadership, integrity and cohesion, authority, friendship, management, adjustment, communication, patience, courage, etc.

In a nutshell, it made me a better person.

There were many challenges and I'll admit there were times at camp when I wanted to run away. But overcoming those situations was one of the best feelings ever.

And when you get the love of about 400 young innocent hearts, all hardships seem to disappear.

I've been to two camps and I can wholeheartedly say that these kids have taught me things about life that I would've never learnt from anywhere else.

The satisfaction you get at the end is not something that can be put into words.

I'm glad to be a part of Voice 4 Girls.
