14 December 2016, Wednesday from 10.00am (Singapore time) to 27 December 2016, Tuesday at 10.00am (Singapore time).
How often can I vote?
You can vote only once for one video. So make sure it’s your top choice! You’ll be prompted to log in. You won’t be able to vote unless you log in via email, Facebook or Twitter.
What is the prize for the Our Better World Good Story of the Year 2016?
The video story with the most votes in each country wins S$5,000 for the Social Enterprise/Non-Profit featured in the video. There will be one winner each for Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore.
Do I need to be from that country to vote for a story in that country?
No. You can vote for any one of the 23 video stories – regardless of what country you’re from or which country the story is based at.
How will the winning social enterprise/non-profit use the prize money?
The Social Enterprise/Non-Profit decides on the best use of the money for the benefit of the community they serve.
Is the Good Story of the Year only for video stories of Our Better World? Or does it include written stories and photo essays as well?
To level the playing field, the voting is only for the video stories told by Our Better World from January to November 2016.

PLEASE READ THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS CAREFULLY
By participating and voting in our Campaign, the voter shall be deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by all the terms and conditions set out herein.
The “Our Better World Good Story of the Year 2016” (“Competition”) is a campaign of the storytelling site “OurBetterWorld.org” (“OBW”), which is powered by the Singapore International Foundation (“Organisers”). The Competition encourages people to vote for their favourite video story launched by OBW from January to November 2016. Voting enables the people and/or enterprise featured in the video story a chance to win S$5,000 to further their cause.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Viewers will have the chance to vote for their favourite OBW video story in 2016.
Voting shall begin on 14 December 2016, Wednesday (10.00 am Singapore time) and continue until 27 December 2016, Tuesday (10.00 am Singapore time). Votes are valid only if voted within the aforesaid period.
The video story with the most votes in each of the country will be declared the winner in that country (the "Winners"). The Winners will be announced on 27 December 2016, on Our Better World’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/OurBetterWorld.org , on its Twitter handle, @obetterworld and on the website ourbetterworld.org/GoodStoryOfTheYear. Winners will also be notified by email.
For votes to be eligible, they must be submitted from a verifiable email, Facebook account or Twitter account. A limit of one vote per email address or Facebook/Twitter account applies.
Any attempt by individuals to vote multiple times run the risk of all their votes to be considered null and void.
Votes from unlisted, private, scrambled email addresses will be considered null and void.
The Organisers undertake to comply with Personal Data Protection Act 2012 of Singapore (PDPA) in relation to all personal data collected through the Competition.
The prize of S$5,000 goes to the Social Enterprise or Non-Profit featured in the video story which received the most number of valid votes in their country.
One S$5,000 prize will be given to the winner in each of these countries: India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore.
The Organisers reserve the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any video story and/or void the votes of any individual who directly or indirectly tampers with the voting process.
The Organisers are not responsible for any problem or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, equipment or software, failure of any vote to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website, phone lines, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to a participant's computer related to or resulting from participation in the Competition. In the event of sabotage, acts of God, terrorism or threats thereof, computer virus or other events or causes beyond the Organisers' control, which corrupt the integrity, administration, security or proper operation of the voting process, the Organisers reserve the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify votes and/or modify, cancel or suspend the Competition.
In the event of cancellation of the Competition before the expiry of the voting period, the Organisers reserve the right to award the prizes to video stories with the highest eligible votes per country prior to the cancellation of the Competition.
The decision of the Organisers on all matters relating to the Competition, including but not limited to the eligibility and selection of the Winners, is final and no correspondence will be entertained.
The Organisers shall have the right to disclose and publish the name and any other particulars of all or any of the Winners for publicity purposes and each shall consent, co-operate and participate fully in the activities organised by the Organisers for these purposes, without any payment, fee or compensation whatsoever.
The Organisers reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time at its absolute discretion without any further notice, including but not limited to the eligibility criteria, the selection of winners, the timing of any act to be done and all voters to this Competition shall be bound by these amendments. All amendments will be posted on the website, “ourbetterworld.org/GoodStoryOfTheYear”.
A person who has not participated in the Competition shall have no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act to enforce any of these terms and conditions.
In the event of any inconsistency between these terms and conditions and any brochures, marketing or promotional materials relating to the Competition, these terms and conditions, and all its subsequent variations, shall prevail.
These terms and conditions and all its subsequent variations shall be subject to, and governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore.
