Sanctuary Care (a service by charity Boys’ Town) offers free home-based short-term placements for children whose families need assistance. Parents with poor or no social support systems can turn to Sanctuary Care while they work towards resolving their crisis at hand.
Maria’s Kitchen
Maria’s Kitchen is a bakery in the Philippines that uses eco-friendly packaging woven from pandan leaves for their popular home-made breads, to reduce their plastic waste footprint while giving pandan weavers a new stream of income amid tough times. Through sales of their baked goods, they hope to grow support and interest in the craft of these weavers.
CHAMPS Programme
Supported by Temasek Foundation, Temasek Foundation CHAMPS (Centre for Health Activation Mobilises Para-clinical Seniors) is a pilot volunteer programme for seniors aged 50 and above. The programme, developed by Tan Tock Seng Hospital in Singapore, trains volunteers in para-clinical skills for the hospital’s Eye Clinic, Total Knee Replacement Ward and Hospital Elder Life Programme.
Sisterhood Community Center (SCC)
Sisterhood Community Center (SCC) is a dedicated organisation for refugee women to be empowered through upskilling courses and to be able to seek advice or emotional support freely. Funded by donations, SCC’s activities and classes are managed by refugee women or volunteers. Their mission is to be the melting pot of meaningful connections for the women, a haven community in which the women support each other, to find hope and purpose in their lives despite the uncertainty of their circumstances.
