Meet Mr Tang
Despite suffering from Parkinson’s disease, 64-year-old Mr Tang leads a disciplined and active life. If not out and about in the neighbourhood, he signs up for social activities organised by volunteers and other community organisations. The former cleaner discovered an interest in photography after an event organised by CRT. He had lived in Dakota since he was a child, but has no qualms about moving to Cassia Crescent.
Phare Ponleu Selpak
Founded in 1994, Phare Ponleu Selpak, or “The Brightness of the Arts”, is a Cambodian non-profit that seeks to improve the lives of the underprivileged through art schools, education programmes, and social support. Its social enterprise arm includes Phare The Cambodian Circus, which helps sustains its operations and creates employment opportunities for Cambodian artists. Each year, it supports over 1,000 students through its programmes.
Roots of Health
Roots of Health was set up to empower women and youth in Palawan, Philippines, by providing reproductive health education, contraceptives and maternal health services. In 2018 alone, it provided over 20,000 women with contraceptives and taught over 22,000 students
