Repair Kopitiam
Founded in 2014, Repair Kopitiam, a volunteer driven initiative, sets up a community repair meetup on the last Sunday of each month where members of the public can bring down their faulty items which Repair Kopitiam’s volunteers will fix free of charge. Their goal is to encourage people to fix things instead of throwing them away, reducing the stress on the environment.
Merah Putih Hijau (MPH)
Merah Putih Hijau is a mentoring programme established by environmental NGO Bumi Sasmaya Foundation in 2016 to empower villages in Bali with knowledge and resources to take ownership of their waste. They work with heads of villages, youth communities, women communities and schools to change the way these villages manage their waste.
Hand in Hand India (HiH India)
Hand in Hand India (HiH India) is a pan-Indian non-profit organisation set up in 2002 that promotes sustainable development. HiH India works to empower women, educate children, create healthcare access, combat climate change and create jobs. Their award-winning “Recycle for Life” model of solid waste management has been initiated in eleven districts across seven states in India.
Kat-Katha
Kat-Katha is a non-profit organisation that aims to improve the lives of people forced into sex work. The team hopes to empower women and children living in brothels to be able to gain their dignity back, by equipping them with useful skills, providing opportunities and instilling confidence for them to choose a life of their own. The organisation is building a safe space for the women to live in, called Dream Village.
KDM
Kampus Diakoneia Modern Foundation (KDM) is a Indonesian non-profit organisation dedicated to child protection and fulfilment of children’s rights by providing them with housing, food and informal education. They create an environment that fosters growth and development while ensuring that every child feels safe and comfortable. They do this to allow each child to bring out their best potential.
RIMAU
Founded in 2018, RIMAU is a non-profit organisation dedicated to protecting the Malayan Tiger through its anti-poaching activities and stakeholder engagement. It runs a specialised patrol unit - the Menrag team, made up of members of the Jahai tribe who have lived in the Belum-Temengor forest for centuries; tapping into their intimate knowledge of the forest, whilst providing them with a sustainable livelihood.
